42nd Hiawatha Traditional Music Festival

The Hiawatha Music Co-op is pleased to announce the return of its annual Hiawatha Traditional Music Festival on July 22, 23 and 24, 2022.

All are invited to come together again for a weekend of traditional music at the lovely Tourist Park Campground in Marquette, Michigan. This is a family and musical weekend on the beautiful banks of the Dead River Basin. There are musical events and activities for all ages.

The musical lineup once again promises to please everyone with local, regional, national and international musicians. The main stage on Saturday and Sunday will feature Grammy Award-winning Dom Flemons, Grammy-nominated The Revelers, old-school Appalachian master artist Bruce Molsky, Chicago Farmer, Midwestern singer-songwriter, Ellis Dyson & The Shambles playing original songs, Damn Tall Buildings known as the Carter family to millennials, the Quebe Sisters delivering a blend of western swing and Texas-style fiddle and harmonies, favorite singer/songwriter local Troy Graham, top Canadian folk musicians Allison DeGroot and Tatiana Hargreaves, bluegrass and mountain music from Martha Spencer & Whitetop Mountain Band, and featuring local favorite dance group, The Westerly Winds Swing Band at the Friday Night Get Acquainted Dance.

At the Teen Scene, Hiawatha teens ages 13-17 will enjoy the music of the Knockabouts and Cotton Pickin’ Kids at the Saturday night “teens only” dance, as well as crafts and other activities. There will be a “Tween Tent” for 9-12 year olds with activities and music tailored to their interests. Younger festival-goers will enjoy a packed lineup in the Kids’ Area, with kid-friendly activities and crafts including Return of Papa Crow, Lake Effect, Corinne Rockow, Fox & Branch, Lunappi, Troy Graham, Roberta Shalifoe, Frank Youngman and the Yooptone Musical Zoo.
