Aireys Inlet Open Mic Music Festival Unveils Stacked Lineup

Led by Josh Teskey, the annual festival features a huge roster of top local musical talent.

The spectacular three-day Aireys Open Mic Music Festival has unveiled its strong star-studded local lineup after announcing it will continue in March in a modified format.

Returning for its 15th year, the festival will take over this coastal town from Friday March 18th to Sunday March 20th with headliner (aka Mystery Guest) Josh Teskey of The Teskey Brothers alongside a slew of artists spanning a range of genres, from punk, psychedelic and indie rock, to American, folk, soul, pop and ska, offering something for absolutely everyone.

After announcing in January that the festival was to be postponed due to concerns over the rapid spread of the Omicron variant of COVID-19, the beloved open-mic festival has turned the tables and held an event that stays true to its statement. of mission, giving artists a chance to perform in front of grateful audiences and foster a love of music.

“Over the past couple of years, uncertainty has become an important part of our lives, more so than ever before. The pandemic has forced us to rethink our habits and seize opportunities. In the face of change, we adapt and then thrive. The Aireys Inlet Open Mic Festival is no stranger to this,” the festival said.

“The entertainment industry in all its forms has been decimated and we want to give our artists a little taste of what recovery can look like. We have nurtured and supported countless artists over the past fourteen years and we think now is the time to pay them their due.

“With this in mind, we are maintaining the Aireys Inlet Music Festival in 2022. The chance to sing, to dance, to celebrate is important. Music provides that.

Joining Josh Teskey, who will perform live in the beer garden on Friday night, the the range also includes the likes of Checkerboard Lounge, Forever Son, Owsley, Mojo Corner, Smoke Stack Rhino, CJ Commerford and the Supertones, Honk, Strathmore Collective, Lucy Lorenne, Libby Steel, Dear Buffalo, Seb Szabo, Localles, Tin Pot Clayman, among many others. ‘others .

Some are names you’ll recognize in the local touring circuit, while others are up-and-coming musicians ready to share their talent and love of music with an adoring crowd through the stages of the gin tasting room, Captain’s Aireys, Ala Grecque, Great Ocean Road Mini Golf and of course the Aireys Pub.

As always, the local festival generally takes a “give what you think it’s worth” approach, allowing guests to enjoy the open-mic acts with a donation from the festival. Along with the free events, this year a weekend pass will be available for $30, as well as $20 for Friday night with Josh Teskey, $10 for Saturday day or night while Sunday afternoon remains completely free. Importantly, 100% of ticket sales go directly to the artists.
