LodeFest – the riverside music festival

LodeFest 2022 – an intimate, family-friendly riverside music festival – is happening this weekend!

After the success of the first LodeFest at the Lower Lode Inn, Forthampton, near Tewkesbury, last year, organizers are restarting from Friday August 26th to Sunday August 28th.

The waterfront scene will once again be the focus of LodeFest.

Hosted by local musicians Richie Lane and Stuart Fox, LodeFest 2022 is expected to feature an eclectic mix of talented artists and bands from the area and beyond.

The three-day musical lineup begins around 3 p.m. on Friday and at noon on Saturday and Sunday.

Reivers Gallows, a brilliant band of traditional Irish folk, return to play on Friday; ‘Bristol Ska Royalty’ Emperials to play Saturday; the Glevum Big Band brings audiences into Sunday with their mix of jazz, swing, Latin music and dance.

Also in attendance will be Spencer Flay, who was recently spotted on the BBC show ‘We Are England’; local favorites, The No Good Nancys; Trevor Babajack Steger and singer-songwriter Mark Illingworth.

To end the weekend, local pop legends Masterplan are impossible to watch without singing along. These are just a few of the highlights of a lineup filled with talented bands and musicians.

Alongside the music, the Lower Lode Inn will run its Beer Festival Bar and offer a range of ‘festival’ pub food and fast food.

There will also be stands and entertainment for children including a bouncy castle.

Co-organizer Stuart Fox said: “After the misery of lockdowns and the devastation they have caused particularly to musicians and the pubs industry, we really wanted to do something to celebrate local talent and bring everyone together. world. We have a huge pool of amazingly talented musicians on our doorstep here in Tewkesbury, and everyone agreed it was a much needed party. We are delighted to be back and doing it again this year!

“It was amazing to have such great feedback after last year, and to add the icing on the cake we raised over £1,200 for Young Lives Vs. Cancer, a charity close to our hearts after directly helping my co-organizer’s family.

“We are really looking forward to welcoming everyone this year for a weekend of live music and fun.”

Pre-booked tickets cost £15 for a day pass and £30 for a weekend pass. Camping passes are available from £10 but are limited.

LodeFest 2022 will once again be a fundraiser for Young Lives Vs Cancer. More information about what the charity does can be found at www.younglivesvscancer.org.uk
