National Hispanic Media Coalition reveals annual film festival lineup – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: The National Hispanic Media Coalition has unveiled its lineup for the upcoming 7th Official Latin American Film and Arts Festival, which will be presented virtually from November 26-28.

Titles include welcome to our world, directed by Alfredo Ramos, with performances by Danny Trejo, Emilio Rivera and Valente Rodriguez. The feature film tells the story of Freddie, a young and irresponsible supermarket boy who is forced to rise to the occasion when his father (Trejo) has an accident at work. Now Freddie has to take on the role of “the man of the house and keep the family from becoming homeless with hilarious results.”

“The NHMC is proud to work with Official Latino and HBO to ensure that our stories are heard and that we are creating a space for Latino artists to thrive, ”said Brenda Castillo, President and CEO of the NHMC. “The more we can nurture and promote the talent of Latinx in the entertainment industry, the more we will see ourselves represented and truly effect change in Hollywood and beyond.
