A massive music festival scheduled to be held at the West Edmonton Mall water park later this month has been postponed again.

Soundwave, an electronic music festival held at WEM’s water park, which was to be held on March 18 has been postponed indefinitely.

American DJ Steve Aoki was to headline the festival.

“As most of you know, on March 1, 2022, the Province of Alberta announced the removal of nearly all COVID-19 related restrictions, including capacity restrictions and limits on gatherings. massive. We were hoping we could finally proceed to Soundwave on March 18,” the Soundwave site declared.

“Regardless of our thorough security plans and compliance with rules and regulations, we have been advised that Soundwave cannot be hosted on March 18,” the post added, noting that it was determined by a regulatory body, that ICU numbers are still too high (above peak capacity) to accommodate Soundwave.

The show was supposed to take place last November, but it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

All existing ticket holders will have their tickets transferred to any Soundwave event in 2022.
